Austin's baptism!

We were so blessed to have my Mom, Mary Ann and Kumen and Abby come visit us for Austin's baptism. They got in on Sat. (which also happened to be Abby's birthday!) She thought the airplane ride alone was the best present ever! We met them at the airport and took them straight to Union Station in Kansas City! This is a major train station that now houses a children's museum, IMAX, restaurants etc. A lot of trains still go through it, but not as many passenger trains. The building is beautiful, so we walked around, took pictures and watched the trains! Nearby was a barbecue restaurant that we ate at afterwards. It was wonderful! Our next stop was Legends Mall. This shopping area is right next to a huge racetrack and has every store you can imagine and every restaurant you can imagine. We wanted to take Abby to the Dinosaur restaurant for dessert. This place is entirely decorated in different themed areas. There is also a giant dinosaur in the lobby that moves. It is awesome. The kids loved it!
Sunday after church was Austin's baptism. (Everyone does it after church here.) It was great. The program went well. Mary Ann gave the talk on baptism and my mom gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. We also asked two Young Women to sing "If the Savior Stood Beside Me." We all love that song. After Stephen baptized him, I popped my head into the bathroom, and looked at Austin. He is growing into such a good and handsome boy. We are so proud of him. He loves cub scouts now too!
Stephen's parents and Abby had to leave the next morning, but my Mom was able to stay until Thursday. However, the poor thing caught a sinus infection and was sick the rest of the time. It was nice to hang out at home, but I know she was disappointed not to have seen the church sites. Next time, Mom!!
